Visiting the Magic Castle
(Private Tours)
The Magic Castle is a private club.
Before you come to the Magic Castle, we would like to remind you of two club rules:
No one under 21 may be admitted to the club at any time except for Sunday brunch. Please be sure that every member of your party has picture ID.
The Magic Castle has a strict dress code for evening guests: Coats and ties for men, and "dressy" dresses for women; no casual wear, such as jeans or tennis shoes. If you have any questions about the dress code, please call us at 626-797-2452 before you make your visit. Guests who do not meet the dress code will not be admitted to the club.
Dining at the Magic Castle
Reservations for dinner are required. Dinner is served at the Magic Castle in an atmosphere of Victorian elegance. Dinner seatings are (as of April 3, 2000) at 6:00PM, 7:30PM, and 9:00PM. Entreés range from simple but elegant pastas to luxurious New York steak. We also recommend the Castle's unique Festalboard, which presents a selection of appetizers, salads, and antipasti. The Castle's menu also includes excellent seafood and vegetarian fare. A wide range of beverages are available, from full bar service and a well-stocked wine cellar to espresso and cappuccino.
When you arrive At the Magic Castle your car will be parked by a valet. You will enter the lobby and be greeted by the receptionist who will check your dinner reservations.
Magic! Of course, your night at the Magic Castle would not be complete without magic! The Magic Castle hosts five different magic shows in three showrooms.
- The Close-up Gallery presents masters of the art of close-up magic, in the smallest of the Castle theaters (seating only 22 guests). Two different performers appear in the Close-up Gallery: the first at 7:00, 8:00, and 9:00, and the second at 10:00, 11:00, and 12:00. Because of the size of this theater, we recommend you get in line at least one-half hour before your desired show.
- The Parlour of Prestidigitation recreates the Victorian experience of the "parlour" (living room) magician. Two different performers appear: the first at 7:15, 8:15, and 9:00, and the second at 9:45, 10:45, and 11:45.
- The Palace of Mystery hosts grand illusion and other stage performers. One show is presented in the Palace at three different times: 8:00, 9:30, and 10:45. Dinner guests have preferential seating in the Palace of Mystery.
Please see your host or one of the Magic Castle's managers if you have any questions regarding performances, show times, or seating policies.
